Špindlerův Mlýn is a mountain town that is a popular tourist destination and an important center with a long tradition of winter sports. It lies on the Elbe River, right in the heart of the highest Czech mountains, the Krkonoše. It is one of the most famous and most visited winter sports centers in the Czech Republic. Špindlerův Mlýn has ideal conditions for winter sports. The Alpine Skiing World Cup is held here regularly. The ski and cross-country trails are open for up to 5 months a year. Professionally maintained downhill slopes of varying degrees of difficulty reach a total length of 25 km. Fourteen lifts and cables provide a transport capacity of 17,500 skiers per hour. With one ski pass, you can ski on the slopes of five ski resorts (Stoh, Medvědín, Hromovka, Davidovy boudy, and Labská). Most of the slopes are covered with artificial snow in case of low snow cover. Fans of peaceful relaxation in the middle of mountain nature, sports enthusiasts, and entertainment seekers will all find something to enjoy here.

Hiking:
Špindlerův mlýn, city centr – 3 km (suitable for kids)

Medvědín, lower chairlift – 4 km (An easy route leads from the building on the left through the center of Špindlerův Mlýn). On the way back, you can choose the route over the hill, which leads past the Sněžka Hotel and is 3.6 km long.

Elbe dam – 5 km (easy rout)
From the house, head towards the center and turn left at the Martin Hotel onto a forest path along the stream, past the Sv. Petr ski resort and along Lyžařská Street along the green trail to the dam. You can return the same way.

Luční cabin – 6 km (route is more challenging. The path leads directly from the building on right.)

Educational trail Medvědín – Špindlerův mlýn – 9,5 km (for kids)
An exciting journey for children, full of puzzles and tasks, starts at the top of Medvědín, a short distance from the upper cable car station, and takes you back to Špindlerův Mlýn. Along the way, you will complete a series of fun and educational tasks. We recommend driving down to Špindlerův Mlýn by car.

Špindlerova cabin – 8 km (car) / 14,5 km by foot (easy rout)
You can get to Špindlerova bouda by bus from the bus stop at the Hromovka – P2 car park. You can drive to the car park by car. From Špindlerova bouda, walk along the approximately 8 km trail via Davidovy boudy, Dívčí lávky, past the Myslivna restaurant and along the Elbe River to Špindlerův mlýn.

Source of the Elbe river, circle – 14 km (car) or 20 km by foot
From Špindlerův Mlýn, take the cable car to Medvědín and from there walk via Šmídova vyhlídka, past the Hanče and Vrbata memorial, Pančavský vodopád waterfall and Labská bouda chalet to the source of the Elbe. You can return via the U čtyř pánů tourist lodge, past the Hanče and Vrbata memorial, and along the same route back to the cable car.
